Why?

You have to wonder what purpose Christianity Today has for publishing articles like this one and why the author would want to write it. There's no conversion and no change of doctrine, and there's a lack of clarity so wide that it could include the Judaizers. Whatever such an article might teach people about the value of being self-critical or the centrality of Jesus, for example, wouldn't there be far better ways to encourage such things?
